My garden

So we finally broke down and planted a garden today!! Tim, Harrison, Max and myself headed over to Lowe's and picked out all kinds of plants. Harrison had a great time doing this, and he picked out a ton of tomato plants, strawberries, pumpkin, cucumber, green pepper, lettuce, squash, spinach and onion. We brought them home and he loaded them into his four wheeler and drove them to the back yard while Tim and I set up our fence. He was very excited and helped plant most of the plants, we decided to save some for the older kids after school. Here's a couple of pictures of the garden and the kids planting, can't wait until they are able to go pick something from the garden!!!

On Memorial day we decided it was too chilly to hang out by the pool, so we decided to head to the Toledo Zoo!! It was a great time, the kids loved it!! Max had the best time looking at the seals, they would swim by him and he would say "se se se", trying hard to say seal, but not quit getting it out!!

Max looking at the seals, he could of sat there all day I think.

A great weekend

Tim decided to heat up the pool a little on Friday night so the kids could have their first official swim of the year!! It was a little chilly still, but we ordered pizza ate around the pool and everyone (but me) took their first dip!!! Max wasn't too sure about it, but the other kids had a nice swim for about 10 min's..haha...yes swimming in May is just not a good idea!!

And yes we do love all of our kids, Jack just refused to let me take his picture!! But here they are freezing their little butts off!! Looks like a ton of fun right?

Saturday Olivia had a piano recital at the dance studio, she did a great job!! We're so proud of how good she has gotten over the past couple of months!! She loves to play and has started to write her own music with lyrics to with it. She's really good, it surprises us at times, who knows maybe one day she'll make a living off of it :) At night we went to Cascades Falls to watch the fireworks, this was also just a great night!! I love watching the kids faces as the fireworks go off, Harrison really enjoyed it this year, and Max sat happily in his stroller watching them as well!! Olivia took her usual spot on her Daddy's lap and picked out her favorites, while Jack leaned back in the chair and watched quietly, because of course he is too cool to make a fuss about them now!!

Olivia at her piano recital

Sunday night we went to Capri Drive In to watch Night at the Museum 2, the kids were very excited that the Valentine's joined us! The kids did great, this experience has been a nightmare in the past, but went great last night!! After waiting in line for 20 min's Tim took the older kids up to the grassy area to play football, while I chased crazy man Max around our car!! When the movie was about to start I walked Max around trying to put him to sleep, then buckled him up in his car seat where he fell asleep for the night....Thank God!!! Harrison made it through most of the movie, but then asked me to climb in the back of the car and lie with him....he soon fell asleep himself!! After the movie was over we packed up the car, the kids and Tim and I stayed to watch Wolverine. I think we got home around 2:30, late night but well worth it!!

Today is Memorial day we're planning on hanging around the pool again, grilling out and maybe sneaking a bike ride in!! I love weekends like these, no commitments, no huge plans, just time with the family!! There will be a lot of this this week since it's Tim's week to take MULA, another week off!! I'm hoping to take the boys to the zoo and Olivia to the Meijier gardens on Thursday after her opt.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

The perfect marriage

I was talking to a good friend of mine yesterday and she said to me "you and Tim have the perfect marriage" I thought REALLY and said "well thank you". I thought about that quite a bit last night when I was trying to go to sleep, do we have what people see as a perfect marriage....noooo!! Some of you might look at Tim and I and think we're good, but most of you didn't get to experience our UGLY days!!

Let me take you to the beginning for just a moment. We had Jack quite young (yes he was planned) Tim was like 18 and I was 19 when I got pregnant. The reason for this is my Dr. told me I would have trouble conceiving...little did they know!!! I refused to get married just because I was pregnant, so we were married when Jack was around a year old. We were happy, at least we thought we were, but Tim was working crazy hours in Detroit and I was a new mom who wouldn't even put the baby down to pee. We forgot to work on ourselves and almost lost our relationship in the process. Tim and I did spend about three months separated, which was a huge blessing in disguise! At first I was so glad to be away from him, but neither of us had ever really given up on each other or being together. So he moved back home and we have really been great since then. Spending three months apart made us both realize that we don't want to spend another day apart ever!! We still fight, for all of you that really know me you know that I have a wicked temper, so yes we fight but never very often and we are quick to make up!

So back to my point about our so called perfect marriage...our marriage went through the bad spots and we were just one of the lucky couples to come out of it together! I think every marriage will face many bumps along the way and then you might hit a brick wall one time, like Tim and I did, what you do when you hit this wall is completely up to you. There are two paths you can take you can get a divorce or you can change! We choice to change we choice to make the changes that needed to be made to make each other happy...and it worked!! I'm so happy we decided to take that path, I can't imagine my life without Tim for even a moment! I think we have a really good marriage, I know there is nothing that Tim wouldn't do for me, and there is nothing I wouldn't do for him! We both feel blessed and lucky to have each other and work on "us" all the time! We make sure we go out for our date nights, we talk all the time, we always hold hands, hug and kiss!! Marriage is a lot of work and it's easy to be too tired to work on it when you have kids, but if you take the time to work on it, it's soo worth it!!!

Tutu's and mornings with my boys....

This is how Max is greeted almost every morning "Maxxx....I love you......good morning buddy", that's what I hear through the baby monitor..so cute!! As soon as Harrison hears a peep come from his room he runs in there and keeps him company for me. I love that Harrison does this, it gives me great hope that Max and him will be good buddy's one day!!

Here's my boys this morning

Olivia had pictures for her dance recital this past Monday and I just wanted to post a few pic's of little miss cutie in her beautiful costume!! Don't mind the smudge on my lens, I didn't realize little man smeared it up....ugh!!

Harrison's Pre-school Graduation

It's official Harrison has graduated from pre-school, now I defiantly have to figure out what to do with the kid next year!!! It was a nice graduation, a little too much talking from the adults and not enough from the kids, but still very nice!! He looked very cute with his little graduation hat on! We're so proud of him!!

Confessions....

So here it is May and I have once again put on my 15 pounds of winter blues weight...GROSS!! Every year I do this (unless I'm pregnant) and then I have to loose it over the summer, I hate it! I am a emotional eater, I know this but can't seem to stop. I eat out of boredom in the winter, when I'm stuck in my house and all depressed. I don't get any exercise to speak of in the winter, I just turn into a big blob of myself!! Well, I decided I don't want to loose this 15 pounds (really should loose 25) over the course of 3 months, so I need to start working out!! So hopefully by putting this on here I'll feel accountable to doing so. I'm not a runner, I want to be one, I want to love it...but I don't!!! I'm going to try to turn into one, but I doubt I have it in me!! I'm going to try to stop shoving food in my mouth for absolutely no good reason!! Hopefully in a month or so I'll be able to fit into my clothes again....I'll let you know :)

Mother's day and picnic fun!!

I hope all you Mom's had a great day!!! You get asked this question a lot "how was your Mother's day" really to me it's like any other day besides the fact that my husband doesn't sleep in on that day!! He made me breakfast, yes that is special, and my kids give me all their great gifts that they have made at school, and then.....really I think it's just a ordinary day!! My gift this year is suppose to be a trip to the spa with Olivia, but I'm not sure how relaxing that's going to end up being when my little Diva is involved!!! Don't get me wrong I love to do things with her, but sometimes we "moms" really just need some time to ourselves!! I'll try it out this year, I'm sure it will be fun and become some kind of tradition!! Should mother's day really be any different, as a mom you give yourself completely to your kids, do we really think they're going to let us take a day off from that? Haha..I don't think so!!!

Harrison had his school picnic today, it was chilly but really fun!! He had fun playing with his good friends Jack and Jake, and I enjoyed talking to their moms!! Days like this make me think I'm going to miss being in Jackson, at least a little!!! Playing at the park across the street from where my kids go to school it so nice! Anyways here's a couple pic's of Harrison and his friends, these boys are so silly!!!

Harrison's 5th B-day!!!

Harrison turned 5 years old on May 7th, it's hard to believe that he's that old already!! I've never really been one to have a hard time with kid's birthday's, but this one kinda hit me! I think it's because he's my third, so it's sad that my third born is already 5.....damn I'm getting old!!

The day before his birthday he took two of his friends bowling, and then they came back to the house to play. That was exciting for Harrison since he still doesn't have "friend" birthdays, this came pretty close!! They played great together, and Harrison beat everyone at bowling, so he was geeked!!

On his birthday we hung around the house, met Jack for lunch (field trip), went to the toy store (so he could sucker a few more gifts out of me), and then went to chuckie cheeses. He had a great time, loved all his presents and now proudly thinks he's a "big boy".

I just wanted to write a few of my favorites things about Harrison....

-He was my only bleach blond baby....LOVED IT!!

-When I had Max he told me he was my "big baby" now

-The kid is hilarious and witty

-He's defiantly a momma's boy

-He's the only one of my kid's that LOVES animals

-He's ALL boy.....crazy
-Harrison has always had a sense of style, it might not always be mine, but he knows what he likes!

-He makes me laugh every day, what else could I ask for!!!
